No two days are ever the same at Holiday HQ, and each holiday period promises experience types (Make & Take, Special Events and Daily Themed Activities), planned activities with opportunities for children to share their own ideas, ensuring each day is filled with fun and unforgettable memories. What is consistent, however, is the way we carefully structure our club days to give children a wide breadth of activities and experiences they love. For them, it’s all about fun!

For parents, it’s also reassuring to know that our Holiday HQ programme prepares children for life, with an important role for every child in every session.

Junior Adventures Group does not provide food (unless you have booked via the HAF programme - please contact our friendly JAG customer care team if you would like further information on this) at our holiday clubs, so our families will need to ensure that they pack a healthy and nutritious lunch for their children to keep them fuelled for the fun day ahead!

We recommend healthy options with a selection of proteins, fruit, veg & carbohydrates that will enable children to remain alert and active all day. There are plenty of sugar-free snacks which can also ensure children can stock up during our breaks, such as crackers, popcorn & much more!

Children will also have access to water to fill up their water bottles. To ensure all children are safe, please note that all our Holiday Clubs are nut-free zones, including items that state ‘May include nuts’.

Please note that if you have a booking through HAF, lunch is provided, and children will only need to bring a refillable water bottle.

Our expertly trained teams of Junior Adventures Group staff are enthusiastic, inspiring, passionate individuals who act as coaches and mentors for the children and live by our values of be considerate, be passionate, be trustworthy and leave a positive legacy. They model the values and skills we seek to promote and are trained to nurture the knowledge, skills, behaviours and dispositions our children will need in an ever-changing world. All club staff are DBS-checked to Enhanced Level and hold qualifications and/or have extensive experience in playwork and childcare: club managers have a minimum Level 3 in Playwork (or equivalent), and the majority of the remaining team will be at least Level 2-qualified in Playwork (or equivalent). Additionally, all staff receive ongoing training in various aspects of child supervision and care, including behaviour management, child protection and activity delivery. We also have a paediatric first aid-trained member of staff on-site at all times.

If your child is attending a Rise then Shine or Stay and Play club, they don’t need to bring anything with them for the club itself. However, it’s wise to factor in our unpredictable English weather, whether that’s sun cream and a sun hat or waterproofs and warmer clothing.

With a wide variety of activities on offer every day, your children will be most comfortable in practical activewear. You might also want to send a change of clothes that you don’t mind getting messy in outdoor play or arts & crafts!

Bookbags, backpacks, coats and other items that your child may use during the school day can be kept aside in the areas our Rise then Shine or Stay and Play Club operates in.

We always suggest that any clothing or items brought to club are clearly labelled and ask that children don't bring any valuable toys or belongings with them, as JAG cannot be held responsible if they go missing.

If your child requires medication, this must be brought to the club and the relevant forms must be completed every time your child attends. We cannot accept any children into the club without the required in-date medication and paperwork.

For younger children, we recommend packing an extra set of clothes in case of toilet accidents.
