What is an apprenticeship?

An apprenticeship is a highly rewarding alternative to further education. It’s a combination of a job and an approved training programme where you learn the skills for a specific job role, gain experience and even earn while you learn!

JAG apprenticeships are 14-month, work-based programmes with elements of on- and off-the-job training, and at the end of the 14 months, you’ll come out with a formal qualification. The qualification you receive will depend on the field of your apprenticeship, but examples would be NGB Level 2 Multi Skills Coaching and Paediatric First Aid.

When you’re employed as a JAG apprentice, you’ll be part of our team and provided a platform to share your voice and learn from our team of experts! You’ll be contracted for at least 30 hours a week, with a contract that covers the duration of your apprenticeship programme with us.

Instead of just learning and not getting experience at school, you can get the important experience that employers like when you go to apply for future jobs. And a nice bonus is that you get a qualification at the end of it. For me, it seemed a better option than university. Some people require a university or want that experience, but for me, an apprenticeship seemed the best path.
